MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
This Holiday season found me in our annual Recurrent ground and simulator skool, wherein we get a refresher on all airline systems, procedures, emergencies, and so forth.
Can you believe it? It’s been a year since I started flying the Boeing 777!
No pity parties please, however. I deliberately “bid” for this particular schedule, as it butts right up against Christmas eve. Result: I de facto get Christmas off!
Yippee, that rarely happens!
However, since Bunny is on Reserve for Christmas, I imagine I’ll be following her to whatever sadistic, frigid overnight (S)Crew Scheduling has in store for her! (BOI? ORD? BUF???)
By the way, here’s hoping YOU don’t get caught in that Traditional Christmas “Once in a Decade” storm that comes every year, just in time for Christmas!

A Few Yuletide Ditties
Since I’m busy studying my 777 manual and reviewing all emergency procedures—and you’re swamped with last-minute shopping and party planning—I’ll make this a brief post.
To wit, a few fun Yuletide ditties to share with you!

Here’s the cutest little video that literally made me tear up with joy! A young child talks to a pilot, who also happens to be on the crew that helps refuel Santa inflight—and he had the goods to prove it!!

Hemisphere Dancing Report
Of course, it’s gonna be hard for me to top our previous Hemi Dancing Report from no less than the Taj Mahal. But, here’s a few fun ditties for ya!
First of all, fellow pilot-author-blogger Cap’n Mark Berry (of the excellent memoir, “13,760 Feet” fame) happened to overnight in PHX, and rang me up for a hike up Camelback Mountain. The weather was spectacular, so I agreed. It’s a heckuva challenging hike, right in the middle of PHX, but the payoff is a view of the entire Phoenix Valley!
My über-buff stepson (Bunny’s son), Gino, tagged along, politely slowing his pace to allow us ol’ geezers to make it to the top!
Actually, Mark fairly charged straight up that mountain. He’s been training for his first marathon, next month, right here in PHX!
